Jaiden Bakshi has invented technology that enables a person to alter (redo) an event in the person’s past in order to achieve a more favorable outcome. However, redoing an event for one person can have collateral effects on others that alter their timeline in a negative manner. In Tripp Hayes’ case, one person’s redo altered his timeline by making his wife and daughters disappear. Typically, a person doesn’t remember his or her prior timeline, but in Tripp’s case he does. As such, Tripp’s sole quest becomes to get his family back.

A down and out sheriff with a shady past and a thriller novelist mom try to solve multiple crimes that have been in the making for fifty-three years, while dodging knives, poisons, and a blizzard. When a group of strangers are mysteriously summoned to the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan, they must survive the weather and each other as they try to determine why they were called to the island in the first place. While the Mackinac Island sheriff is already busy investigating two murders, the strangers, trapped inside the hotel with no contact to the outside world, start to die one at a time. With the five hundred year-round residents on the island stuck in their homes and a blizzard bearing down on the victims to be, the plot unfolds into an isolation murder mystery.
